Description

This famous flower is a deciduous to semi-deciduous bulb, that can be evergreen in warm, climates where rainfall is good. Large white flower spathes show up well against even larger, dark to bright green, arrow-shaped leaves. Forming large, dense clumps, these plants do best in damp soils and full to partial sun. Use around garden ponds and taps, and places where water pools. Copes with light frost. Fruits eaten by birds; insects often found sheltering in the flower tube. Leaves with & without white spots. Summer dormant in the W. Cape; winter dormant in the summer rainfall regions. Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, North West, Western Cape
