Description

Coastal shrub from the W. Cape, they reach around 2m in height. Their finely branched, needle-like leaves and erect, compact form make them attractive, trouble-free garden plants. Fragrant flowers are small and white and cover the bush from May to November. Leaves carry a strong citrus scent so typical of the ‘buchus’ family. Makes an excellent screening hedge or filler shrub. Needs initial good watering, but drought-hardy once established. Requires acid, well-drained soils. Copes with strong, coastal winds.
